Down Beat 720: Open Mic night for High Schoolers is held the second
and fourth Tuesday of the month. Poets, singers, MC’s, dancers,
break dancers, bands are all welcome. Sign up at 7 pm. Starts promptly
at 7:20 pm. Closes at 9:30.

Twelve computers with Internet access and CD burners, music production
studio, computer training, counseling and support groups. The Youth
Council meets Thursdays at 4 pm (open to all). The Council plans
events (poetry slams and more) and does community service (mentoring
middle school kids.)
Coming soon: film editing classes and cultural events. Drop in and
hang out!

ROSIE’S GIRLS
Learn some basic carpentry, welding, electrical wiring, plumbing,
tree trimming, car repair and fire fighting! Rosie's Girls©
is a summer day camp for girls entering 6th - 8th grades that uses
trades exploration to build self-esteem, physical confidence, interpersonal
cooperation and leadership skills. Santa Monica’s program
is run out of the City Yards. Two sessions will be held in 2004.
